Westin W2 Precision Cast Limitless Dlg 7’7 Mh 10-40g 1+1sec

Westin W2 Precision Cast Limitless DLG 77 MH (1040g) The Seamless Power Specialist

When the boundaries between boat and shore fishing blur, you need a rod that offers limitless adaptability. At Gerrys Fishing, we recommend the Westin W2 Precision Cast Limitless DLG for the technical angler who demands the uninterrupted power and sensitivity of a one-piece blank in a manageable 77 frame. This Medium-Heavy (MH) specialist is the high-fidelity choice, engineered to handle everything from subtle soft plastics to aggressive surface iron with a level of feedback usually reserved for custom-built rods.

The heart of the Limitless performance is the 1+1 construction, where the main fishing blank (over 180cm of carbon) slots directly into the handle. This eliminates the dead spot found in mid-jointed rods, allowing the 80% 30T and 20% 24T carbon blend to load and unload with a perfect, progressive curve. Rated 1040g, it is a master of mid-weight lure work, offering the sharpness needed for pinpoint casting and the crisp recovery to set hooks instantly in deep water or heavy current.

Where & How to Use the W2 Precision Cast Limitless 77

• Technical Boat & Kayak Lure Work: The 77 length is arguably the most versatile for boat anglers. It provides enough length to clear the bow and reach distant boils, but remains compact enough to facilitate easy netting and vertical lure manipulation.

• Precision Structure Fishing: The 1+1 design offers unparalleled feedback. It is the perfect tool for feeling your way through rocky gullies or over submerged reefs with 15g30g soft lures, where knowing the difference between a weed-tick and a fish-tap is vital.

• Versatile Hardbait Casting: Whether you are walking the dog on the surface or steady-retrieving a sub-surface minnow, the progressive action maintains perfect line tension, reducing the chance of pulled hooks on aggressive predators like Bass, Bluefish, and Bonito.

Gerrys Pro Tip

The One-Piece Advantage: Because this rod is a 1+1 design, the sensitivity is electric. To maximize this, pair it with a very thin, high-quality 8-strand braid. The lack of a mid-joint means the vibrations from your lure travel directly down the continuous carbon blank into the Seaguide XVS reel seat. Youll feel the thrum of a lures vibration even at the very end of a long cast!

Frequently Asked Questions

What makes the Limitless DLG different from the standard Precision Cast? The Limitless designation refers to the 1+1 section design. While the standard models are 2-piece (equal length), the Limitless puts the joint in the handle. This ensures the part of the rod that actually does the work is one solid piece of carbon, providing a smoother action and significantly better sensitivity.

Is 77 too short for shore fishing? Not at all. While 9 is common for the shore, 77 is increasingly popular for technical shore fishing where accuracy and lure work are more important than raw distance. It is also much easier to use in overgrown or tight-access marks.

What reel size balances best? To complement the fast, technical nature of this rod, we recommend a high-quality 3000 or 4000 size saltwater spinning reel. This provides the perfect balance for the 77 blank and enough drag power for hard-fighting predators
