Shimano Sonora Boat Quiver 1.50m 50-150g 2pc

Shimano Sonora Boat Quiver 1.50m (50-150g) | The Compact Saltwater Powerhouse

At Gerrys Fishing, we understand that sometimes the best tool for the job is the one that fits in the tightest spaces. The Shimano Sonora Boat Quiver is an exceptional entry-level rod that proves high-quality saltwater performance doesnt have to be expensive. Designed for the Mediterranean style of Bolentino and vertical bottom fishing, this is the most compact model in the series, making it a favorite for kayak anglers and young beginners.

This 1.50m (approx. 411) model might be short, but it is incredibly robust. With a casting/sinker weight rating of 50-150g, it has the strength to drop heavy leads into the strike zone, while the Fixed Solid Glass Fibre Tip provides the sensitive bite detection needed to notice even the most subtle nibbles from species like Bream, Whiting, or Flatfish.

Rugged, Sensitive, and Highly Portable

• Composite XT30 + Glass Blank: The blank is constructed from a blend of XT30 carbon and glass fibre, creating a rod that is remarkably sturdy and forgiving. It is designed to handle the rough and tumble of boat fishing while maintaining a smooth, moderate action.

• Sensitive Solid Tip: The bright orange solid tip acts as a built-in quiver. Its designed to stay under slight tension from your lead, visually telegraphing bites before they can even be felt through the handle.

• Ultimate Maneuverability: At just 1.50m, this rod is incredibly easy to handle on small boats, kayaks, or crowded deck spaces. Its the perfect size for a childs first real sea rod, ensuring they can manage the gear without struggling against a long lever.

• Shimano Hardlite Guides: Featuring 8 quality stainless steel guides, this rod is built to withstand the corrosive saltwater environment and is fully compatible with both monofilament and braided lines.

Use Example: Kayak Fishing & Small Boat Vertical Jigging

Imagine youre out on a kayak or a small inflatable boat in a sheltered bay. Youre targeting Bream or Gurnard over a rocky patch in 15 meters of water.

The 1.50m length is a huge advantage hereyou can easily reach the tip to clear a tangle or unhook a fish without having to stand up or overbalance your craft. You drop a 100g lead straight down; the solid glass tip sets into a gentle curve. When a fish rattles the bait, the tip dances clearly against the skyline. Despite its small size, when you hook a decent fish, the Composite blank arches beautifully, providing plenty of power to bring your catch to the surface.
