Savage Gear Salmonoid SG2 Trolling 2.44m 12-20lb 2pcs

Savage Gear Salmonoid SG2 Trolling Rod

The Savage Gear Salmonoid SG2 Trolling rod is a high-performance, two-piece rod designed for versatile trolling across both freshwater and saltwater environments. It is perfectly suited for use with downriggers, Dipsy Divers, and paravanes, offering a moderate line rating and a specialized parabolic action for superb fish control and feel.

Key Specifications:

Features for Dedicated Trolling:

• Balanced Power: The 12lb20lb line rating provides an ideal balance of power, capable of handling large fish while retaining the sensitivity needed to effectively manage trolling gear and detect subtle strikes.
• Parabolic Action: The great parabolic action (deep, progressive curve) is a vital feature, as it absorbs the immense shock of a strike and the sudden runs of a hooked fish. This reduces strain on the line and tackle, minimizing breakages and hook pulls.
• Durability and Feel: Built from an ultralightweight, very durable 24+30T Carbon Blank, the rod is designed to handle the toughest fishing in rough conditions. It is also perfectly balanced for the optimal feel, ensuring the angler can monitor the lures action.
• Trolling-Specific Components:
  • Tip Guide: Equipped with a 2-piece SeaGuide ITHT tip guide (Though listed as ITHT, it refers to the specialized, heavy-duty guide type used at the tip on Salmonoid Trolling rods).
  • Reel Seat: Features a Strong DPS reel seat to securely lock large trolling reels.
  • Butt Section: Includes an X Gimbal for secure, non-slip seating in a rod holder or fighting belt, essential for maximum leverage and safety.

Ideal Applications:

• Trolling for Salmon, Trout, and Lake Trout with moderate to heavy trolling gear.
• Saltwater trolling where a durable, high-quality 12lb20lb class rod is preferred.
• Anglers seeking a powerful two-piece rod with a traditional guide layout and excellent shock absorption.
