After more than 6 years of design, engineering, and brutal testing Daiwa unveils the most powerful Saltiga Lever Drag ever developed. The new Saltiga LD80-2SPD unleashes near limitless potential in the pursuit of taming the oceans meanest gamefish. From monster bluefin and yellowfin tuna to marlin and more, the Saltiga LD80-2SPD is made for the dedicated and daring anglers that seek the most reliable gear to improve their time and performance on the water.

Starting with the frame, the Saltiga LD80-2SPD sports a one-piece frame milled out of solid aluminum. This milled design gives the reel a rock-solid feel externally while the tightly maintained tolerances within keep the internal gears and bearings in perfect position even under heavy pressure.

When it comes to cranking, the oversized stainless-steel pinion and drive gear lend sustained smoothness, durability, and maximized power transfer with each turn of the handle. When the fight gets heated the ATD carbon drag system engages with a maximum of 59.5 lbs of consistent pressure and relieves with an ultra-smooth drag pay-out to prevent pulled hooks. Built for heavy duty with a deep capacity spool anglers, can depend on the 700yd line capacity with 120lb braid to keep world record class fish well wrangled.

With the inception of the new Saltiga LD80-2SPD, the Saltiga family now is prepared to tackle all of the most sought after gamefish, from mahi and king mackerel and now cow tuna and marlin. Let the new Saltiga LD80-2SPD unlock the final bosses of the sea and BREAK YOUR RECORD.

FEATURES

ATD DRAG

Daiwas Automatic Tournament Drag uses an improved drag grease that exhibits a low viscosity at rest, yet becomes more viscous immediately after drag start up. This reduces initial drag start-up inertia and combined with the structural changes of the ATD Drag System results in a smoother drag from the initial hook up.

CRBB

Lasting 12 times longer than standard stainless steel bearings Daiwas corrosion resistant ball bearings feature specially treated stainless steel, and a protective shield on the bearing race that seals out sand, fine grit, salt crystals and other abrasives. The result is a longer lasting bearing thats protected from the corrosive elements that destroy traditional bearings.

STAINLESS STEEL GEARING

Harder & stronger than any other material, Stainless Steel significantly increases gear longevity. Unmatched against corrosion, Stainless Steel gears will help fight against pitting and premature wear which can lead to increased feedback.
