Sonik HeroX Landing Net 42 2pc 8ft

Sonik HeroX Landing Net 42 (2pc 8ft): Ultimate Reach and Dual-Purpose Versatility

At Gerrys Fishing, we find the Sonik HeroX 42 Landing Net in the 8ft two-piece configuration to be a total game-changer for specialist anglers. While most standard nets stop at 6ft, this 8ft model provides the critical extra reach needed when fishing off high zig-rigs, steep river banks, or over marginal weed beds. Because it is a two-piece design, it also offers a hidden secondary function: you can use a single 4ft section as a dedicated boat net handle, making it one of the most versatile nets in the Sonik range.

The HeroX series is built with the same Hero DNA as the rodsslim, lightweight, and incredibly stiff. This stiffness is vital when using a long 8ft handle, as it prevents the pole from whipping or bowing when youre trying to guide a heavy carp into the mesh at distance.

The HeroX 8ft model is a high-performance, long-reach specialist tool:

Key Tactical & Performance Features

• Extended 8ft Reach: The extra 2ft of length over a standard net is invaluable. It allows you to net fish much further out, which is a massive advantage when using long zig-rig hooklinks that can make landing fish on a 6ft handle nearly impossible.

• Dual-Function Handle: Because it breaks down into two 4ft sections, you effectively own two nets. Use the full 8ft for bankside reach, or use a single 4ft section for boat work where a long handle would be cumbersome and dangerous.

• Integrated Mesh Retainer: The spreader block features a built-in clip. This allows you to tuck the base of the mesh into the block, keeping it out of the way of snags and weed during the search for the fish, and releasing it automatically once the weight of the fish enters the net.

• Curved Arm End Protectors: The 42 carbon arms are fitted with smooth, curved protectors. These prevent the arms from wearing through the mesh over time and make it much easier to slide the mesh onto the arms during setup.

• Easy-Flow Hex Mesh: The deep green hex mesh is designed to let water pass through with minimal resistance. This easy-flow design is critical when using an 8ft handle, as it reduces the leverage and strain on your arms while moving the net through the water.

• Carbon Composite Spreader Block: Strength meets lightness. The reinforced block is designed to take the high torque levels generated by a longer 8ft handle, ensuring the arms stay locked in place under pressure.

Why the HeroX 8ft is a Gerrys Essential

• Zig-Rig Ready: If you fish zigs regularly, this net is a necessity. The extra length compensates for the long lead-to-hook distance, allowing you to net the fish safely while the lead is still well away from the rod tip.

• Transport Friendly: Despite its 8ft reach, it breaks down into two 4ft sections, meaning it fits perfectly into standard 12ft or 13ft rod holdalls and sleeves.

• Premium Ergonomics: The slim handle and Japanese shrink-wrap grips provide a high-end feel and a non-slip surface, even when your hands are wet or covered in fish slime.

Gerrys Pro Tip: When using the full 8ft length, avoid lifting the fish out of the water like a shovel. Instead, once the fish is in the mesh, break the handle down into the two sections or walk the net back. This protects the carbon handle from unnecessary stress and ensures your HeroX net lasts for seasons to come
