85mm | 9.7g | Floating | deep minnow | 9.7 grams Kawashima

The Sugar 2/3 Deep SG 85F Floating Lure is a deeper-running minnow for fishing edges and structure where a shallow plug passes too high over the fish.

The diving bill is the important part.

It lets the lure dig down and hold a more consistent track, which is useful around drop-offs, walls, deeper banks, current seams, and areas where bait is not sitting right on the surface.

That makes it useful when you need the lure to swim properly at a specific level instead of simply flashing through the water.

Use a steady retrieve to keep it in the zone, then add pauses or short twitches when you want it to kick off line and look vulnerable.

Change the speed based on the fish: faster for reaction bites, slower and more stop-start when the water is cold, clear, or pressured.

For the 9.7 grams Kawashima finish, match it to the actual lure appearance and water clarity: natural or flashed for clean water, brighter contrast when visibility drops, and darker silhouettes when fish are looking up.

The honest limitation is that it is not the right choice over very shallow rock or heavy weed.

When the bottom comes up quickly, a floating shallow minnow or pencil is safer.

TARGET SPECIES: sea bass, bass, trout, perch, flathead, bream, and predators holding along deeper edges, drop-offs, or structure.
