Savage Gear Sandeel V2 12cm 22g

Savage Gear Sandeel V2 12cm 22g The Ultimate Realistic Predator Lure

At Gerrys Fishing, we know that when it comes to lure fishing, realism is the difference between a blank day and a trophy catch. The Savage Gear Sandeel V2 is the evolved version of one of the most successful lures in history. Engineered with a level of detail that borders on the biological, this 12cm, 22g variant is the perfect all-rounder for UK salt and freshwater predators.

Why the Sandeel V2 Outperforms the Rest

The magic of the Sandeel V2 lies in its lively kicking action. Unlike standard soft plastics, this lure works for you on both the retrieve and the drop. Whether you are burning it back through the surf or letting it sink down a rock face, the tail is constantly vibrating, sending out distress signals to nearby fish.

The unique darting jig head design ensures the lure doesnt just move in a straight line; it rolls and darts unpredictably, mimicking a panicked sandeel. To handle the hardest-fighting fish, it comes equipped with a forged carbon steel hook in a tin finish, offering incredible strength and corrosion resistance.

Key Features & Technology

• Pro Peg Body Holder: A game-changer for durability. Using the supplied toothpicks, you can peg the body to the head, ensuring the lure stays put even after aggressive strikes or long-distance casts.

• Internal Glass Rattle: Pre-rigged into the soft PVC body, the removable rattle adds an acoustic dimension to your presentation, drawing fish in from murky water or heavy cover.

• Super Realistic Details: From the scale patterns to the eye placement, this is a 1:1 imitation of a primary food source.

• Spare Tail Included: Every pack comes with a replacement tail, ensuring you stay in the game longer.

Where to Use the Sandeel V2

• Shore Casting: Perfect for Bass and Pollack from rocky outcrops or piers. The 22g weight offers excellent casting distance even in a headwind.

• Estuary Fishing: Work the lure along the edges of sandbanks where sandeels naturally congregate.

• Vertical Jigging: From a boat, drop the Sandeel V2 over wrecks or reefs. The action on the drop makes it lethal for deep-water Cod and Pollack.

Gerrys Pro Tip:

Dont just chuck and chance it. Try the Stop-and-Go retrieve. Wind for five turns, then pause for two seconds. Because the Sandeel V2 kicks on the fall, many of your biggest hits will come during that pause as the lure flutters toward the bottom.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the hook replaceable?

The hook is built into the jig head for maximum strength. If the hook eventually dulls, it can be touched up with a hook sharpener, or the jig head can be replaced.

Can I use this in freshwater?

Absolutely. While designed for sea fishing, the 12cm Sandeel V2 is a fantastic lure for large Perch, Zander, and Pike, especially in clear water where realism is vital.

How do I use the Pro Peg system?

Simply slide the body onto the jig head, insert the provided toothpick through the small hole in the head/body, and snip off the ends. This locks the lure in place so it wont slide down the hook
